Keep it Local & High Fashion Girl Shop Local Challenge Collab.

I am pretty pleased with the response I've gotten to the High Fashion Girl Shop Local Challenge, which offers a 15% discount to my favorite local shops: Blue 7, Collected Thread, DNA Galleries, Shop Good, Warpaint Clothing and Urbanology. This was both a method of encouraging shopping locally, and a way to give back to my loyal local readers.

Keep it Local OK championed the Challenge via twitter, and we started talking as a result. I pitched the idea for a collaboration and they were all over it. This is a tiny sample of why I so dearly love this community. I've never met Chris and Bryce from Keep it Local, but we've talked enough via social media to establish a rapport. From there, we're now launching a new Challenge together. It's a small, respectful, and supportive community like the one offered by Oklahoma City that makes these things possible. I love it here. I really do.

Keep it Local & High Fashion Girl Shop Local Challenge

Here's all you have to do: If you took the Shop Local Challenge and purchased any items locally for Christmas, send me pics! ((grace AT highfashiongirl.com)) I'll post all of your pictures, and then we will select three winners at random to receive a brand new Keep it Local card for 2012.

I LOVE my Keep it Local card. I've had both the 2010 and 2011 cards, and I can tell you that they quickly pay for themselves. They cost $10, which is very affordable. I basically recoup that cost after only 3 or so visits to The Wedge. The Keep it Local card gives you amazing discounts to local retailers in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Mustang, Moore, Yukon, Norman and Midwest City. That's a pretty broad reach! The thing is, they offer such an amazing variety of deals at such a wide swath of businesses (credit unions, florist shops, boutiques, dry cleaners, restaurants, and more) that you're probably going to these places anyway. I use my card constantly because discounts are available at places I actually go.

Here's where I've used my Keep it Local 2011 card:
1) Cuppies and Joe
2) The Wedge
3) Blue 7
4) Cheever's Cafe
5) Elemental
6) Heirloom Shoes
7) Iguana Lounge
8) Iron Starr BBQ
9) Le Fringe Salon
10) S&B Burger Joint
11) Sara Sara Cupcakes
12) Sushi Neko
13) Beatnix Cafe

That's the tip of the iceberg! Just look as this gigantic list of businesses offering Keep it Local discounts in Oklahoma City alone!

The picture I'm trying to paint for you is this: The Keep it Local card is awesome, and you should get stoked about winning it for a prize. Think of all the savings! If you've gotten jazzed about me talking it up here and want to buy one now for a friend or family member for Christmas, you can pick one up at any of the participating businesses or order one online.

So, that's it! Send in your pics of Shop Local purchases that you got using the exclusive 15% discount, and you'll be entered to win. Keep it Local and I will select three winners on December 24, 2011!
